Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Rava Upma:
- 1 cup fine variety suji/ semolina
- 2 tablespoon ghee clarify butter / oil
- 1 tablespoon black mustard seeds
- 1/2 tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon spilt and husked bengal gram /chana dal
- 1 teaspoon spilt and husked black gram / urad dal
- 10-12 cashewnuts optional
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1teaspoon green chilli chopped
- 1 teaspoon chhoped ginger
- 1 spring curry leaves
- 2.5 cup water
- a Salt
- 2 spoon green coriander leaves chopped
- 1-2 teaspoon sugar as needed (optional)
Steps to make Rava Upma
- Heat pan /kadai add semolina begin to roast stir it begins fregrance and dry seprate and crisp
- (don't brown it) transfer it in plate keep aside.
In pan heat ghee / oil add mustard seeds cumin seeds chana dal urad dal fry until brown - Lightly golden add cashunuts add onions saute till become translucent add green chilli ginger curry leaves saute
- Add 2.5 cup water sugar salt as required mix heat water let it come rolling boilling add green coriander leaves
- Add rava / semolina mix stir continuesly cover pan and allow to steam for 2-3 min. Add green coriander leaves
- Serve upma with coconut chutney lime slices and lime pickle.
