  10. 2 medium sized potatoes
  11. 2 tbsp roasted chana dal / roasted bengal gram / putani
  12. 1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
  13. 2 medium sized tomato (finely chopped)
  14. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  15. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  16. 1 tsp coriander powder
  17. 2 green chilies (slit lengthwise)
  18. 1 1/2 cup water
  19. as per taste salt
  20. as required seasoning ingredients
  21. 1/2 tsp jeera / cumin seeds
  22. 1 red chilli (optional)
  23. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  24. 1/2 tsp urad dal

Steps to make Set Dosa with Sagu

  1. Firstly, in a large bowl take 2 cup idli rice or normal khichdi rice, ½ cup urad dal and ½ tsp methi.
    add enough water and soak for 5 hours.
  2. Drain off the water and transfer to the mixer or wet grinder.
    blend to smooth paste adding water as required.
    in a bowl take 2 cup poha/ murmura and rinse well.

    cover and ferment in a warm place for 8 hours or overnight
    after 8 hours, the batter has doubled in size.
  3. Add salt and a pinch of soda
  4. Heat the dosa tawa and pour a ladleful of batter.

    cover and roast the dosa to a golden brown from the bottom and completely cooked from the top in presence of steam.
    finally, enjoy set dosa with chutney and sagu
  5. Take boiled sized potatoes
    Take 2 tbsp of roasted chana dal or roasted bengal gram or putani in a blender.ground them to fine powder.
  6. In a kadhai, take 2 tbsp of oil and all the seasoning ingredients. add ½ tsp of jeera, ½ tsp of urad dal and ½ tsp mustard seeds.
    add finely chopped onions and slit green chilies.
    once the onions turns translucent add ginger garlic paste. add finely chopped tomatoes and fry them till they turn mushy.
  7. Add 1 tsp of coriander powder,tsp of turmeric. add ½ tsp of red chili powder.
  8. After salt, now add grounded roasted chana dal powder. mix well and continue to simmer. garnish with dhaniya
